Poetry and song lyrics are the initial inspiration for all of my paintings.
I work to translate emotion and literary technique into visual technique:
marks as words, brush strokes as gestures of lyricism and rhythm,
shapes and colors as metaphor, visual passages as narrative movement,
colors as symbolic and emotionally evocative.
